Buzzy and overdistorted is what I want to avoid, I want a champ with just a touch more headroom.Cliff Schecht wrote:5k gives you slightly more headroom which is a blessing in a SE amp that are really easy to overdrive (I love that great saturated SE output tube sound but too much can sound buzzy and, well, overdistorted).
I ordered the Edcor with just the one 8 ohm tap. I'm irked knowing I can't use it with my 4 ohm cabs but I wanted the pretty blue, chunky, M6 Edcor for this. I try to avoid over-spec'ing geetar amps but in this case I'm hoping the extra clarity might prove fruitful.
