Hi, found two of these today... 8 ohms and they work, albeit quite trebly. Thy were quite dry and i gently cleaned them with a damp cloth.
If you recognize what they are, please post. I do not believe they are intended for a guitar amp.

I'll bet there is a treatment for brittle paper.
I know guys put fabric softener on the cones of new speakers to soften them but I can't say that is what should be done here.
It would seem the old radio guys would know or maybe Jim at Southbay might know.

old kitchen cloth
Hi Tom, someone wrapped old cut kitchen towels and fixed it with pipe cleaners. I took that junk off. The second speaker is identical and in great shape. I will ask Jim about the re-conditioning scenario. The speaker box says 59' on it. I am looking to salvage the speaker box for my champ build, I will have to cut it down but it's in pretty good shape.
