Very interesting stuff, but look at the way they flex the board

Flex? Nah, their just "stress-relieving" the board.

That's pretty cool and certainly a far cry from my manufacturing facilities (big cluttered walk-in closet that smells faintly of burnt cat piss, due to stale coffee and Pall Mall butts).

If the board had SMD's then I would agree, but it's all TH parts which really isn't a big deal. I'm surprised they do all of the assembly in house though!

Thanks for posting that, I had missed it when it was on the tube. I love old Traynors, very cool amps, usually for a good price too but they are going up. As for their new stuff I could certainly critique all sorts of things they are doing but ultimately I respect Traynor for making a decent amp at a price point that competes with asian made amps and keeping the factory at home in Canada. I've never played or even had one of the newer models on my bench but I must say that new little darkhorse lunchbox looks like fun. I'd like to get a hold of one.

Thanks and I concur with Nigel, about the old Traynor amps. It is quite amazing that Traynor is able to keep the production in Canada, and produce a quality amp at competitive prices ! Art

Yes, that is very cool they produce them in Canada to this day, but man, that is just slightly different from my methods. haha.

Neat video, seen it before but it's always interesting to watch again.

The Tranyor factory is about 40min up the highway from me. A old boss of mine used to work there actually, she even knew I was into guitar and offered me a tour. I never took her up on the offer...bah

That is the main reason they are so hard for us "humans" to work on them.

Also, I don't care for Traynors new fangled method of biasing. Although they seem to be very responsive to give tech support.

Old Traynors were way "Badass" .

They load boards a bit faster than I do thats for sure... :o Thanks for that, I missed that one too, I always wondered what wave soldering looked like too, that explains a lot about why some of them fail I suppose if somethings a bit dirty. Very cool though, thanks again.

I learned about wave soldering back in HS in 1968  . My electronics class took a field trip to Bell Labs in Murry Hill NJ where the transistor, IC, UNIX and many other technologies started. It was walking distance from school.

At the time I worked part time at a hearing aid factory loading and soldering boards by hand. I told my boss about wave soldering and in about a month I was looking for a new part time job.
