Good Heavens, I did not realize there were tubes that bore the name of Lee Deforest.......
That's a cool sight.
Thank You

Re: Free Tech Manuals
Yeah there are some cool old manuals there.
This picture is from the RCA RC-12 book.
I love it!
You can see the various materials used in making tubes, no wonder the EPA has outlawed just about any chance of US manufacturing of vacuum tubes.

First post!
Thanks for the link. I'll have a look at the "Radiotron Designer's Handbook", with much interest.

I love the opening sentence of the 1967 RCA manual:
"The electron tube is a marvelous device."
Couldn't agree more!

Re: Free Tech Manuals
OK, I learned something already. On page 93 of the 1967 RCA manual, figure 126 shows why some Hammond transformers have a center tap on the rectifier filament winding--that can be the HT output tap, rather than one of the cathode pins.
Must fill brain with more tube stuff.........

Re: Free Tech Manuals
I think its the 47 rca has a data sheet on 12ax7. when did fender start using them?
It was a tech boom between 38 and 48, the pre WWii vrs the post war leap.
That early telefunken book shows many low voltage radio tube, some miniature.
The early German tactical and technical successes go hand in hand.
