Re: other pentodes
6EU7 is the same as a 12AX7 with a different pin out. If you don't want them, PM me, please. Maybe I'll take some off your hands or we can barter. How many is a "bunch"?
Re: other pentodes
A lot of Gibson amps used them. Essentially equivalent to a 12AX7, but with slightly lower internal capacitances (and a different pinout).

Re: other pentodes
had a Gretsch in last year with 6eu7, had to double think the dress at every glance.
starting on pin 4 its K G P P G K, 6sn7/ 6sl7 are G P K G P K, most other 9-pins
are P G K P G K, some grad student had his slide rule where the sun don't shine.
Converting a 50w platform to run octals with the same circuit has that floydster thing, 6sn7 and 6sj7.
And I have another 50W about the shop to try 6au6, then the 5654,
the distortion ratings in the RC charts for these pentodes is VG with 5%.
Its going backwards to look for tone color.
Sometime in the early mid sixties every body stated making fenders with
cathode coupled long tail inverters and gobs of feedback.
