Can't find a 6PdT switch
Does anyone know where I could find a 6pdt or 8pdt toggle switch, Mini toggle possibly?
I know there's rotary switches, I don't think I have enough space though.

Just out of curiosity - what do you need 6 or 8 switch poles for?
Re: Can't find a 6PdT switch
I would think that switching 6-8 poles in the close proximity that a mini toggle would put them is not likely to be very successful anyway, as you'd have serious crosstalk and potential parasitic oscillation issues.
The biggest I've seen is a 4-pole switch as a mini toggle.

Re: Can't find a 6PdT switch
What the heck are you switching? You might consider a pair of 4P switches. Wire them together. Fabricate a bar for the front side so you are force to toggle them together. Really, though, this seems like a bad idea.
Re: Can't find a 6PdT switch
Switch as many parallel relays as you need with a simple SPST.
Wife: How many amps do you need?
Me: Just one more...

Yeah, I haven't seen a 6p toggle switch.
However there are 6P relays.
What are you wanting to switch? That will help us help you.

Re: Can't find a 6PdT switch
Thanks guys, I've decided to go with a rotary. I'm building this crazy elaborate fuzz pedal that multiple things need to be switched for everything to work properly. I thought space was an issue ( a 6pdt toggle would be huge. ) but its really not. Thanks again

Re: Can't find a 6PdT switch
I built a crazy fuzz pedal once.
It was an exorcise of extreme fuzzieness!
I called mine the Super Fuzz!
I used it for a while but soon lost interest in it and ended up using the parts for other pedals but it was a fun build.

6PDT mini toggle
The only component level parts shop left in my area may still have one hanging, it was there a few months ago at least. If I get chance I will go by tomorrow to see if its still there.

Re: Can't find a 6PdT switch
I made a fuzz pedal with two distinct characters once, but I simply built two separate circuit boards and used a DPDT switch to select between them. I used dual pots for the controls where necessary.boldaslove6789 wrote:Thanks guys, I've decided to go with a rotary. Fuzz circuits are typically so simple it should be no problem fitting two of them even in a fairly small box.
