Capacitor Voltage rating

Post by craigslee »

Hi again,

Hot Rod Deville Mod.

I have had a great deal of trouble sourcing .022uF, 330pF and 47pF caps. The best I can do in Australia is ceramic 50V rating.

Q. is a 50V rating adequate for a post overdrive tone stack circuit?

Thanks for any help. :?:

EDIT: Jumped the Gun!... I found what I was looking for. (600V)

Most ceramic caps are 1kv or higher.

High voltage ceramics

I don't think Jaycar or Altronics carry the high voltage types. You might do better at Tubesandmore.com.

I know Jaycar in NZ carries high-voltage (630V) caps in those values (and Belton tube sockets'n'all) but I had heard that this wasn't the case in the Ozzie chain.

FWIW there's a bloke in Queensland you can get lots of stuff from. Caps on this page (under tube sockets)
