Hi
Anyone know off-hand if the US model Champion 600's PT can be tapped to UK?
doesn't look like it, but i haven't looked beyond the end caps.

Re: Fender Champion 600 - power transformer question
Unfortunately, the trans is pretty simple and maybe a bit disposable. You might just replace with a new Tweed Champ style with export taps. (+ or - $50 in the US from weber or mojo musical supplies.)
That little 600 will sound a lot better and not be as stressed out. That old trans is working at its max pretty much all the time.
(I have gutted and rewired two and totally upgraded another keeping it stock except for ajustable bias and Master Volume.)
Have fun.
Just my two cents.

Re: Fender Champion 600 - power transformer question
Thanks.
as it happens, i've put tone controls in mine and am experimenting.
Excitedly awaiting the arrival of the parts for my own 5W build; i don't see much point in spending large sums on the 600. Having said that, i'll probably get bored enough to contradict myself
