I talked to the guy I know, who had a Dumble a few years ago.
He met Alexander Dumble, to talk about how he wanted the amp. Dumble needed to know what guitar he would use with the amp. He also needed to know if he would mainly use the clean or OD channel, and made the amp according to that.
He said that the foot switch had a switch for clean/od and one for "tonestack bypass". The last one took the tone stack out of the circuit, only adding a little boost in volume. I've never heard about this before.
It was similar to the Robben Ford Dumble in tone.
He also said that the sides of the chassis was made of wood, and had turret boards attached to them (as we've seen on pictures). Never knew about the wood though..
He also said that the skyliner models didn't sound as good as the pre-skyliner models, but I guess that's a matter of taste..
The amp was bought around late 80's, early 90's. Black, 1x12" ODS. Early 100's serial number, it might have been 123 he said, but wasn't sure.
Is any of this info new to you guys?

Isn't that what the boost function does? It disconnects the treble pot from the rest of the stack effectivley removing the tone stack from the amp.Tdale wrote:....and one for "tonestack bypass". That is I was thinking too, but wasn't sure.

Is this what they call the PAB - Pre-Amp Boost?
There's two boosts in the circuit - one called the mid-boost, which is the bypass on the top capacitor and the other the gain boost which effectively disconnects the rest of the tone stack other than the treble pot. So which one is it?
