Best clone amps???

Post by MR.A-Z »

Hi,
I've being watching this forum for a while now and i see that a lot of people build there own clones of Dumble amps but I'm searching some really good builders that build dumble clones but in bigger numbers...

i know ceriatone and two rock and heard a lot of great things about them but i was wondering if there are other companies like them...

thanks a lot!!!

I've only personally played a Fuchs 50, but I've heard some great clips of Glaswerks, Carol Ann, and Bludotone amps, and they've all got some pretty great players on their list of customers. I should say that I've not played a real dumble either, but I can say that all 4 builders spend time here regularly helping out and seem to really know what they're talking about.

thanks for the other companies, but about ceriatone: i heard they have a very goed clean and that's what i want but i wanna know if it's jazzy enough, can you plug in an archtop guitar like a gibson l-5 and get a good jazz tone with it?

ceriatone is more in my price range but i can go a little bit more expensive but not 'two-rock' prices....

There are a few really good builders here lurking on this site. Many are as good or better than the established status Quo like Two Rock and Fuchs.
Bludotone being one for sure. But there are lots of others too.
Ceriatone's prices are attractive, but he has a poor warranty and if you ever have problems from malaysia, good luck.
I do clones as well and the prices are attactive and a few great players are using them too.Two Rocks prices are 5000.00 for a head.Pretty steep in my book.
Put a great clone in the hands of a great player and you've got success.Back it up with at least a 5 year warranty and support a phone call away and you've got what you need.
Crystal latice or vacuum, that is the question.

Brandon may be reluctant to toot his own horn, but if you're truly looking for a "clone" I'd say he creates the most faithful reproductions available. If you're looking for an amp "based on Dumble circuits" your choices are all over the map.

No Two Rock or Fuchs I have ever played has come even close to sounding as good as my homebrews. I can only assume that guys like Funk build amazing sounding amps (and for quite a bit cheaper than the status quo, too...)
