Carbon or Cermet for the HRM trimmers?

Post by Tonegeek »

Tried a search...
Getting ready to order some parts and need advice on the HRM trimmers as I think I can do better than what i was using (BI). Which material sounds the best? I am leaning to the 15 mm Piher Cermets for reliability, unless carbon sounds better.

What type did HAD use? I am guessing carbon.

Dumble used carbon. I have used both types, primarily carbon and never had any prroblems. Gary uses cermet. I am not sure you will hear any bid difference in tone... Maybe cermet for the PI, since it's the only high voltage application in the whole amp?
