Most of you are aware I just finished up an ODS amp... Then I moved onto the tweaking phase... I'm just beginning to recognize that tweaking is a bit of disease/addiction sort of thing... but that's another thread. https://tubeamparchive.com/viewtopic.php?t=4705
I went through a whole list of suggested tweaks that Dogears and a few of you others proposed. My amp just keeps getting better and I am really pleased with it. I did all the tweaks below except #3 and #6. I was afraid that I'd lose the cool clean tone so I haven't gone there yet.
On tweak #8, I noticed that it really knocked down the voltage on the #2 plate of my OD tube. What I did was run a 330K Resistor and a .001 cap, in parallel to ground. Before this my voltage on this plate was 205V. Now it is 154V... but the amp sounds really good. Prior to this my OD control was really quick and came on strong very early. Now it seems to be more linear but still provides a full creamy overdrive when it's cranked. It's got much more range down in the lower settings. Is this a bad thing? Maybe I should I put these components on a switch?

Some suggestions:
1) Change PI plates to 110K/120K as suggested already
2) Change OD plates to 220K/150K along with appropriate cathode resistors
3) No bright cap or 10pf at most
4) 4.7K feedback resistor for power amp feedback
5) .01uf midcap and 250ka midpot
6) 330pf treble cap
7) 330pf snubbers
8 ) 300K (500k trimmer is even better) and .001uf cap to ground from OD2 plate if OD is still buzzy
9) Is there shielded on OD pots? All 4 connections
10) series .05uf cap before the pre OD network (the 220K resistor), use 4.7m to ground to keep from popping
I also changed the V4,5 screens to 500R and the grids to 3K3. Voltages look like the following:
v1a 179
v1b 183
v2a 202
v2b 154
v3a 306
v3b 297
v4 431
v5 431

Those components in #8 should be in series, forming a high frequency shunt to ground. The cap is connected to the plate then the pot is used to adjust the amount of treble content filtered to ground.
