I'm considering trying to use the JM clean channel in a twin reverb. It's a 72 master volume amp.
My goal is to get the normal channel to have a similar tone to my Amp Nation Wonderland Overdrive.
I'm at the stage in my hobby where I want to design my own board and have Doug Hoffman build it for me (eyelet not turret).
The amps original board is shorted. So I figure I would pull the whole board and stash it away. Gonna clean up the wiring. Change all the tube sockets.
My goal is to have the amp look bone stock on the front.
I'm also most likely going to use a solid state tremolo to free up a tube for some more gain. Not an overdrive, just to thicken up some things with the extra tube. Haven't looked too much into that yet
Also, wasn't sure if this should go in the Dumble or Fender so mods feel free to move.
Thanks for any help or ideas.

I would encourage you to post a schematic for what you are wanting to attempt.
I've attached some editable FREE program SCH schematics that you could use if you wish to. You should not view the attached schematics are totally correct but as a starting place for you to draw up your own schematic. There is a 2nd page that shows the PT and B+ rail.
With respect, 10thtx

Geez - $500 for the program to open these files!10thTx wrote: ↑Thu May 05, 2022 10:05 am I would encourage you to post a schematic for what you are wanting to attempt.

Hi, one thing I have discovered. If you want to create the actual sound of the JM follow the original layout as close as you can. For example not taking the reverb from v1b with a 68K resistor not including the same mixing tube to mix the clean and reverb signal or not using the same number of electrolytic caps in the power supply. I have found that these 3 items have a great impact on the original sound of a JM.
Hope it turns out great
Cheers!

I have to agree with Guy here. Various factors make the Wonderland what it is. But if you'd be pleased with mid heavier and darker cleans, there are some other ideas. I'd think that going low plate classic in one channel would get you pretty far already. You could rely on the big 3.3meg resistor for a bit of high end roll off after you remove the 10pF cap paralleled to it.
Or you could just rip out the board and build a Wonderland in it, or an Ultra Phonix. Or something like in the added schematic, which is part Wonderland, part Bluesmaster, part SSS #005. Lots of bells and whistles, but you could leave many out. Anyway, just modding the normal channel to Wonderland specs, won't get you there.

Re: JM channel in a Twin Reverb.
Here's what's up. The amp has a pair of swamp things. To me they are a little bass heavy. But I like the punch with the hundred watts.
Maybe I'm looking in the wrong direction.
Ill post a new thread in the fender section.
