Greetings,
I'm just wondering, why the negative voltage is tapped from the HV instead the bias tap (if there is one).
Did I miss something?
Thanks.

Re: SSS #002 - Bias tap
For the cathode follower drivers, the negative voltage supply has to be around three times the grid bias voltage. The bias tap can be used to create a +/-170V bipolar supply to power the drivers, as I've posed several times before.

Sorry, I couldn't find an equivalent posting on this topic.

Re: SSS #002 - Bias tap
I could make a additional bipolar bias pcb. So a user can decide if one wants as original as possible or a elegant redesigned bipolar bias to suit the voltage tolerances of modern production tubes.martin manning wrote: ↑Sat Feb 05, 2022 10:40 am For the cathode follower drivers, the negative voltage supply has to be around three times the grid bias voltage.
