SSS #002 - Bias tap

Post by Lothy »

Greetings,

I'm just wondering, why the negative voltage is tapped from the HV instead the bias tap (if there is one).
Did I miss something?

Thanks.

For the cathode follower drivers, the negative voltage supply has to be around three times the grid bias voltage. The bias tap can be used to create a +/-170V bipolar supply to power the drivers, as I've posed several times before.

Thanks Martin.,
Sorry, I couldn't find an equivalent posting on this topic.

I could make a additional bipolar bias pcb. So a user can decide if one wants as original as possible or a elegant redesigned bipolar bias to suit the voltage tolerances of modern production tubes.
Martin I"ll PM you.
