Just received my new head cab for the Music Man (Ultrasound) inspired amp.
Great work by Taylor @ Amplified Nation who did a great job and I highly recommend if you need a place to rest your amp!
Here are a few pics. Also here is the build thread I did on the amp a while back for those interested in the build if you missed it .https://ampgarage.com/forum/viewtopic.p ... ultrasound
The Music Man ODS's are fantastic and highly recommend them if you are up for the build! (Working on clips now)

Looks great Tony, I love that blonde tolex look. Sorry, I laugh a little when I see the warning label on the filters. I was thinking of labeling mine, no worries, its only 450v dc.

Inside & out this is really fine. Velvet Glove an evocative name. Somehow reading through no specific Music Man model donor was mentioned. Or I missed it. Can you enlighten?

Hey Ian
Sure the Music Man connotation relates primarily to how the output section is configured.
Specifically, the 700V DC Plate voltage combined with the 350V screen supply. This is how Music Man ran there RD/RP series amps. This requires the use of both MM power and output "donor" transformers along with select use of power tubes that can handle the high voltages.
Dumble built a small number of ODS's using Music Man iron after (word has it) he purchased an unknown number of MM transformers shortly after they discontinued production in 1984.
These amps tend to have a distinct sound (like the RD series) however the preamp section is setup like a standard ODS from that era and generation,(low plate/high plate/Skyliner/classic etc etc.) I
I don't ever recall seeing an HRM/Bluesmaster/Ripper with MM iron. Of course, as soon as I publish this one could turn up!
I hope this answers your question
Thanks

Hi Tony,
I own a MusicMan RD-100 and you got me thinking. If I took the preamp signal out of my 183 clone and routed that to the power amp in of my RD-100, would that give me a decent idea of what a Dumble MM clone would potentially sound like?

Hey Don
It's been a while since I've looked at an RD-100 schematic so there may be some differences like filtering and bias methods but yes it should give you a good idea. Just check your schematic on the MM first just to make sure.
