V2b's grid leak is grounded via V2a's cathode, a 100:1 divider. There is local feedback.
I remember Brandon saying he really liked the Class Act. He said it had Dumbley qualities and that he gigged with it.

There is also NFB from the output to V2b.
V2a and b can also be viewed as having NFB because there is no cathode bypass.
Electronic equipment is designed using facts and mathematics, not opinion and dogma.

I built one of those for my nephew's graduation gift. That circuit is very aggressive. Had to lower 470K voltage divider after first stage to dump some gain. Screaming Marshall tone and not much clean.
