I've built three EL84 amps that work good so I thought I might try something a bit more complicated and versatile next. I don't know much about Dumble amps but it looks like ol' #183 might be a good choice because of the EL34 tubes. I was going to build a Fender Twin but I like the idea of channel switching. The best amp I have ever owned was a 100W Mesa-Boogie Mk II and the Dumble looks to be somewhat similar.
My main question is; are the layout and schematic in the Dumble Files section correct?
Where would I get transformers and the choke?
I could start with a Ceriatone kit (no transformers) and replace some of the resistor and all of the electrolytics. I can't find a 330uF 385V capacitor anywhere. My first project started out as a Ceriatone kit and replacing the 'Holy Grail' caps with Cornell Dubilier and BC Components electrolytics was a big improvement.
Thanks in advanced to anyone who replies.
Solder on,
George

Re: #183 questions?
These guys here have been working hard for many years to make those layouts and schematics as accurate as humanly possible..from component types and brands to voltages. I've been lurking for a few years now lol and I've seen that if something isn't right in a layout or schem then it pretty much much gets discussion until there is a consensus.
Just start on https://tubeamparchive.com/viewtopic.php?t=13095
Read through the thread... then open up search and dig up anything you can find on other people's 183 build experience. This is where you'll find out what transformers have worked well for others.
Also check the "Ford's or Tag's" thread... it has some info on tkt183 and Tag knows tone
