Possible D-Style PCB Run?

Post by steve_p »

(Mods: if please feel free to move this to the for sale page if you see fit. I put this here for better d-clone visibility).

Hi All,
I may be needing a set or two of PC boards for some upcoming builds.
With jborders being out of stock on everything and not expected restock date, I decided to layout what I needed myself in Express PCB.
Obviously, the setup costs make this prohibitive for 1-2 sets.
I wanted to gauge interest in having some boards made.

I have completed the precision power supply, rectifier, and relay board layouts. I still need to finish up the fet and relay supply boards.

I would like to order a bunch of sets, with each set consisting of:
1 each: Precision Power Supply, Rectifier, Relay Supply, Fet Board
1 relay board for preamp bypass function.
1 relay board for channel switching
2 general purpose relay boards.

I also added plain backers to the pallet for the fet, relay supply, rectifier, and 2 relay backers.

All boards would be .062 FR4 with green soldermask and white silkscreening. All holes plated thru. These would be ordered from expressPCB. I would get in the pallets, then shear them apart into individual boards and clean up the cut edges. Lead time would be about 2 weeks after order.

Obviously, cost would be dependent on order numbers. I would estimate a cost of about $55-60 per set if about 10 people were interested. Priority shipping would probably run $4.75 for small flat rate.

If there is interest, I will continue and finish laying out the FET and relay supply boards. If not, well, I will have to go the old-fashioned way for my next builds. If you are interested, please post here.

For reference, I have attached a PDF showing the palatalized layouts.

Thanks in advance,
Steve

How about designing PCB for preamp with on-board relays ?

Definitely something i could do. Only limiting factor would be board thickness. The service i use only makes .062 boards.
If there is enough interest, i will look into it.

Ok,
Definitely seems like there is some interest.
I will finish up the FET and relay supply boards today.

As of right now, I was not planning on offering the preamp PCB with this set.
It will take me a bit longer to get that drawn up.

i don't think the preamp pcb is nessceary, just to make sure it's the only thing nessceary.

i'd rather turret that part anyway, for experiments sake.

just another question.

which build will it fit ? i reckon 124/183 ?

These boards are sized to fit the CE chassis. The amp that would be the closest to correct using these style boards would probably be 183.
However, they are generally functionally equivalent to most other generations.

One additional question for the masses:
I have a relay supply that I made up in the past for my use that has the voltage regulator right on the PCB, as opposed to having it on the external terminal strip.
I have attached a picture of this style.

I could include this style supply with the set, or I can do a layout more similar to the 183 style supply.

Let me know what everyone wants.

Steve

Should be fine being international, although shipping will be a bit more.
