Hey new guy here as for posting a question. Have been a member or as some people call lurkers for quite awhile :>))
Got the dumble bug a while ago and built a 50 watt small special. Really like the sound. I built it with the dumbelator inside the chassis and use a lexicon alex for reverb.
It's alot smoother and the tone controls are more usable than my 64 deluxe reverb.
Since I play more clean country chicken picken stuff the overdrive amp is not really my thing. Love the overdrive with Robben Ford and Larry Carlton. The early David Lindly stuff is amazing too with the lap steel!
I'm more intrested in the clean amps. SSS, Dumbleland , Small Special and the Odysse. Not the power amp one. Did that morf into the first Dumbleland?
So my question is how many mdls of Dumbleland are there? From what I've noticed there seems to be 2. A smaller head version in the original style silver chassis with the black electro set lettering and a longer chassis with a black face plate.
Aside from wattage are there more steps in the filters 6 to 12 in the 2 versions.
Hopefully Max can chime in.
Thanks
Rob

Re: New guy and Dumbleland Question
Rob, all "Dumbleland" amps I have played and know of are rather individual amps that are all more or less different in regard to their features and their timbre.tremrocket wrote:So my question is how many mdls of Dumbleland are there?
Some are 150W and some 300W (300SL). Some are built for bass, some for guitar. Some have filters with 6 steps (300SL e.g.), most 150W Dumblelands I know have filters with 7 steps, but at least one Dumbleland 150W I know has filters with 11 steps, and the EF 86 Dumbleland 150W has no filters at all. Some have reverb, some not. Some with FET input, some without. Some have an internal trim pot to adjust the gain and sound of the filter section, some don't have this internal trim pot. And so on...
Cheers,
Max
