Very basic power supply question

Post by markusw »

What's the advantage of using two 47µ caps in series compared to a single 20µ (or 22µ).?

Thanks for your help in advance!

This will add voltage handling. If you have two 350V in series, the caps will handle surges of up to 700V. Be sure to use a 220K resistor across each cap to properly spread the load though.
