Heat from 100W

Damn these things run hot. I have two HRMs now, both with the correct spec. transfomers, one in a Twin Reverb cab, the other in a Dumble style.
Anybody else noticed just how hot the back of the chassis and the transformers get ? Wow you could fry an egg on that sucker !
There's nothing wrong, it's just an accumulation of heat from 4 power tubes all in one area.
I fitted a 12V fan into the Dumble style cab and that has cooled it down a lot. Dare I say the 100W combo cab is a bad design without forced cooling.

I'll second that!! I usually put my "stage fan" where the back of my amp can benefit from it as well!! I do, however, notice that the amp sounds better once it's good and hot.

I put a fan on my 66 Twin back in the 70's. I found that without the fan I was blowing power tubes about twice a year, after I put the fan on I never replaced another power tube. I sold the amp in the early 80's so it was used for about 7-8 years after that.
