My transformer guy has both 40W and 60W OT for Fender. He likes the 40W even if the amp is a 50W amp..
I think they are weber transformers, but I'm not sure.
What do you guys prefer?

Re: OT question
I prefer larger rather than smaller. Since the Dumble is basically a clean output with OD preamp, I like to keep the output as clean as possible. JMOTdale wrote:My transformer guy has both 40W and 60W OT for Fender. He likes the 40W even if the amp is a 50W amp..

Re: OT question
Dumble typically used Twin/showman OT's in 100 watters, and BF Bassman OT's in 50 Watters. There are a few out there with music man Trannies as well as a few with Sunn/Dynaco Trannies. Try www.mojomusicalsupply.com, their trannies are Heyboer and made in Michigan using paper bobbins and original specs, Webers are Chinese alot of the time and you may be displeased with their performance ( I was at least).

Re: OT question
IMHO, Weber's Bassman iron and their comparable 2-4-8 ohm transformer sound great with the Dumble circuits. I've used them several times and I haven't been disappointed. And you can't beat the price.
