Bludo Ojai tuning compared to GW Phat Momma tuning
Bludo is 6L6 high plate Skyline non HRM w/ several tweaks
Glaswerks is EL34 high plate Skyline non HRM w/several different tweaks.
Both running through the external Loopalator with 200pf cables.
The Bludo master bright cap is quite a bit bigger than the one in the GW. I may up the GW one size??? Explains some of the brightness difference.
Same mics, positioning, cab (2X12 G1265), mic pres, etc.... Only dleay and verb added in mix. No EQ. No altering.

Btw, this is not a "versus" thread. Both amps are terrific. I did not attempt to dial them similar. Just a quick take on each. The Phat Momma was one take. I could do more and alter the stack or gain to get different results. This was the first sample in current config.

Your killing me with these clips...You really should write some tunes and record an album.

Hi Scott,
Both amps sounds great !! through my Grado SR80 Hifi Headphones.
However, it seems like your playing is a bit more present and emotional through the GW?
Both really great tones, but this is what I hear in these particular clips.

The Glaswerks seemed to want to bloom into harmonics which I find pleasing to the ear and the tone of that amp between these two.

I agree with everyone, Glasswerks has nice feedback and a bit more presence. I think I prefer the Bludo, sounds more dynamic and responds/compliments to your playing nicely. You can hear more of the nuances of your playing through the Bludo IMO; Glaswerks still sounds great just more rock and roll. Amazing how an amp can change someones style subtlety or heavily.

Great playing on both clips. There is a definite difference in the profile of the two tones. My preference is for the Ojai. A little more bite, more umph, more *something* that my ears really like. Nothing against the GW tone at all, but it sounded a little more compressed, less present to me. A little *too* smooth, if you will.
I, too, would love to have a collection of dogears tunes.

2 great sounding amps. Both have the vocal wah thing going on and seem to break into harmonic bloom easily although you played off of it more on the GW. Scott you could make an album if you wanted to and it would hold its own with anyone, even Robben.

Great clips, Scott. I like the tones of both. I think the Phat Momma's, errr, momma would be proud.
The Ojai is killing as always. I think both are equally good and have their own thing going on.
What EL34s are in the Phat Momma? Winged C?
