I think I'm going to start a website for dumble pics.

Post by boldaslove6789 »

Hello All,

I think I'm going to start a website or blog for Dumble pics. I know that some folks have done a lot of research early on to complete there builds and I want to keep that in consideration (thanks BTW too). That said I don't want just anybody to have complete access though ( I'd like a username + password + moderation etc.) I've been collecting for a few years now and I have a ton of pictures.Kinda like a database with info that has been gathered for each amp, consecutive serial numbered, internal pics, one offs, maybe even clones (I will be sure to ask permission from all the big dogs before I go doing that though.)

Does anybody have any pics of early 1st gen amps (2-20 etc.) or any other pics.

If you have a pic I'll trade off if your looking for something that I have and you don't before I start all of this.

I am not doing this to make it E Z for all to just make a clone. I know how much hard work that was put into early amps, the cloning process making this site possible, and all early attempts to inform others about Dumble and what he made. I want it to be merely a reference point for all to come and view for new ideas, viewing pleasure, information, etc.

Dumble's service's/products have gained a ton of popularity, recognition, and even hype over the years. I look at each piece of equipment he has made to be a work of art and want to showcase it for all that appreciate to come and learn from it.

I want to thank everybody at Ampgarage for all the knowledge I have gained so far. I hope to pay it forward for those willing to educate others.

If you haven't found this already, it is a great resource.
http://www.roblivesey.com/dumble

It has two 1st gen ODS'.

Personally I kinda like researching ODS' builds. Building a simple little amp like a Fender tweed of BF will take 2 days for me. But I spend months reading and searching through old threads and posts looking for info on the different ODS'. Really get a good background on the amp, I like it.

I like your idea though.

Yes I got some of my collection from Rob Livesey's site some time ago.
Hope he doesn't mind, if your out there Rob thanks. It was a good source of inspiration for this idea actually. I want it to be a bit more extensive although. I spend months reaserching/reading too :D . I have to agree, it is kinda fun trying to solve the mystery LOL.

That would be a great resource to have all in one place. Good idea to control access too, I think that will get you some pics you might not otherwise get.

Perhaps you could set it up within AmpGarage, I would talk with Allyn about that.

Noble cause for sure.
If you password the site it wouldn't take long before that password was leaked to the public.

Don't let that smoke out!

I'm here, ever a lurker. It's cool with me, take all the pics you want from my site, I got most of them off the net anyway. I don't really have the time to do what you intend to do, so go ahead, and good luck.

Cheers,
Rob.
