His trolling will always stir up peoples emotions.

His type of GAS fuels amp builders as Henry said.
They are the best customers until they start complaining about the amp they just bought and request endless support for that same amp.

The bottom line is, this is still an amp builders forum so endless clips of Politician are not helpful.
I am not suspended at TGP, and the last time I was, it was reversed in a day, as I was not out of line smart guy. By the way, what amp have I bought and requested endless support for?? ZERO. So you are WAY out of line accusing me of something that is not true. Not very nice, I would not do that to you. As I said, I am now in the process of help building an amp, which is going to be dead spot on FINALLY, and I will give out information as I see fit, and as I want to. Just like everyone else here. If you want more info, as i said before, find a great sounding Dumble and buy one yourself. Its really simple.

I don't care what licks you rip off as long as you show the ampguts your playin thru...going by your logic Dumble mostly just ripped off ideas from RCA and the RDH!!

Sorry if I got the facts wrong Tag.
I thought when I was there at TGP they were saying you were banned or suspended because you were not there for a while.

But the fact remains that your posts seem to stir peoples emotions one way or the other.

I'm sure there are like minded people at TGP that love your clips.
You are a good player.
I'm just saying that this forum may not be the best place for you to post clips at.
We build amps here and discuss building them.

Maybe you ought to learn more about electronics and build your dream amp.
Who know, you may put the right pieces together and get the tone you are after.

Don't let that smoke out!

No problems! As I said, I am going to be assisting in building what will be either the final word in a "clone" or the project will be scrapped. Everyone knows with me its black and white, so either this will nail the tone, or it will not. I will report back when the project starts moving along in the next few weeks. :D

Nope. Buy one yourself. As the project rolls along, I will tease you with a little info as I feel the need. Lol! :P

Tag,

I know what your amp is, it's a Low Plate skyline, 25uf bypass caps on V1 Standard OD. Sprague Coupling caps quite possibly with NTE Mylar .1 uf's and Nichicon/INDCO/ or Sprague 715's as the .01's. Resistors are primarily Blue 2% carbon film NTE's with the occasional Tan Sprague and Red Piher. I have all of these parts on hand of course for comparison.

Well now that it's public knowledge that you're going to let someone De-goop it I hope it doesn't affect your resale value. Lemme know how that goes for you

My only comment is that there will FINALLY be a DEAD on sounding clone, or the project will be scrapped. If it can be done, it WILL be done this time. All else on how this will be achieved is open to speculation. I will be giving out SOME info to help others along the road that has been missed so far. Already have found a few things!!

VERY VERY GOOD!!

I have yet to hear anything nail it yet, so you may be correct. If I feel its achieved, A/B clips of every kind will be posted. :D If not, I will just admitt another close, but no cigar.

Seems like Funk just gave all info needed IMHO...all one has to do is switch out caps and resistors to get that same tone...

The supreme irony is that he doesn't have to "de-goop" his Dumble. He can avoid this value destroying step precisely because the very builders he's pissing on here have posted all the information he needs to avoid it. In the end, if he ends up with an amp that sounds like he wants it to, he'll have this forum to thank. I doubt very much that he would be humble enough to do so, however. But then, I think you knew that. You just said it much more poetically then I.

On the other hand, maybe his amp has been de-gooped already. We don't know do we? If that's the case, I think he way over-spent..........

That's what I'm sayin!

it's impossible to nail a particular amp exactly, and there are so many that are already so close it's splitting hairs.

the problem is even if you go part for part and measure the specific value of each part, they all drift a bit over time and with heat, you're just chasing the rabbit down the hole!!

An example:

Larry Carlton has 4 Bludo Drives, all slightly different, and he likes them all. All are clones of his #1 circuit wise. They all do what he needs them to do, but if you put them all in a room they are all a tad different.
