If you still smoke cigarettes, think about quitting.

I think that and high cholesterol is what did me in.

Time for changes and a healthier lifestyle.

Tom, I won a membership for a running club for executives in january this year. I have lost a couple of lbs, but more importantly, my health has improved tremendoulsy and I easily run 8 miles now. When I first joined I couldnt even finish the warm up round of 1 mile. I 47 years old and in better shape today than 10 years ago. I have also forgotten how to smoke cigarettes and cigars :-)

Find som exercise that you like and you'll have better life quality in 6 month.

Best wishes, Tom. Time to drop those cigarettes and pick up those walking shoes. I hope your doctor didn't limit the number of posts you can make per day

They kicked me out of the hospital about 10:30am.
Feeling pretty good.
All kind of seems like a bad dream, surreal.
Now here I am and I can't sleep!

Anybody here use Chantix to quit cigarettes before?
My cardiologist gave me a prescription for it.
Took my first dose today. It has some nasty side effects that they mention quite a bit.
I've quit several times in the past, once for nine years!

Hopefully this time it sticks.
I never could stand to exorcise, just a strenuous job and climbing scaffolding all day but I haven't worked in over a year due to our splendid economy.
So I got pretty soft.

I'm not over weight so I have that going for me.
Working on amps and playing guitar isn't a very good workout I'm afraid.

When I quit, I reacted really badly to the tablets etc. Was told by the so called professional , that I went to see, that nothing could be done for me , so, I may as well just take up the habit again.....well, I took offense to this, and during the following rage, I realized that I am EXTREMELY stubborn, and why not be stubborn about quitting...that was two years ago

Get well, fit and best wishes, from the other side of the world

Thanks for the encouragement, I can be stubborn as well.

This time there is more at stake so I have that motivation.

Hey Tom,

really glad you're already feeling better! :)
A friend of mine tried to quit with Chantix. As long as he took it everything was fine. However, as soon as he stopped taking it he started smoking again
For other guys I know Chantix worked.
So I really hope it works for you too!
So far I couldn't find a way to quit smoking myself. I think for me the best way would be to go for a couple of weeks to an island where you can't buy cigarettes.

Peace,

Markus
