Well, thanks for your response! Like many here I am interested in the knowledge as much as anything, and there are some gaps in my amp/electronic based knowledge.

I actually first tried disconnecting my ground to my relay power board. It comes from the 6v winding of my transformer. My heaters are "center tapped" through 2 100r resistors. I thought that could be creating a ground loop. Disconnected it and huge drop in buzz! I have a 6v transformer coming that I'm gonna dedicate to this. Hopefully will solve that issue!

at that point amp sounded about like a 100W marshall in terms of ambient "buzz". Playable, but i know these amps are noted for being quiet. Pulled V4 and silent.

For what it's worth, I have testing equipment. Good signal generator and old analog scope. I can look through general waveform for testing but haven't gotten much past that.

One other point of note. I'm using a Heyboar. transformer for a Twin. I should have about 430-440V at PT plates, but my voltage is around 410. The heaters are good for 5.5 A, so with a full load that's pulling 5.1A. The two relays are 40mA each and i know the 7805 voltage regulator doesn't use much quiescent current
