Must be nice having all those tools at your disposal!

Great job on the face plates. Did you use waterslides?

BTW, a 5 Amp fuse is way too big for a pair of 6L6.

I have an actual Brown Note D'lite, 2x 6L6, that has a 2 Amp fuse.
Thanks for the kind words! The tools certainly saved me time and money, Which was good as I am on a shoe string budget for this build.

The faceplates are digitally printed media. I drew up the files in Corel Draw, and had them printed by one of our sister companies.

Thanks for the heads up on the fuse, I'll change it out promptly!

B, superb job all around!

Could you share the brand and model (if any) of this "structural glue" you may have used on the corners?

And one last question, your Saber CNC used on the cabinet, was it a laser or router type?

Enjoy your amp!

Thanks guys!

As far as the "glue" is concerned, I used "Weld-on 45" it's a two part epoxy that is specially formulated to adhere aluminum to itself. Although, it will glue just about anything to anything.

For my chassis, I MIG spot welded the sides, then ran a bead of the Weld-on, and smeared it with my finger to create a uniform covering.

The CNC machine is a router, not a laser, although, I work very closely with a waterjet/laser company here in Reno, it sure would be neat to have those machines!

Thank you kindly for the information B.

Yes, I have heard of Weld On, I bough J-B Industro Well for the same purposes but I have not used it yet. Will your experience show them to be equal, or is one better than the other?

On the CNC router, how can you make the perfect 90 degree cut on the inside cut of the fingers of the joint in order to make them flush? While laying flat, a router bit makes a rounded corner, my dovetail jig works with the board laying vertically so it cuts perfect corners, do you finish them up with a jig saw, or by hand somehow (chisel, saw, etc.) ?

All the best.

J-B weld is a good product, I personally don't have much experience with it, But I'm sure it would do the job if applied to a clean dry surface.

As for the router, You caught me! The router did leave .250" radii in all of the fingers, I'm going to jigsaw them out on my lunch break today, and hope to glue the cabs all up this afternoon.

Here's how she sits as of last night. The head cab seemed a little tall, as I wanted space to put something in the bottom comfortably (d'lator/reverb pan). But I think it has pretty decent proportions.

Sorry about the image quality, It's a quick iPhone snap.

Here's a quick sound demo, I don't recall the knob settings, but I looked at pics of #102 and set them pretty close to those as I recall. EH holy Grail, and Hardwire Dl-8 delay in the loop. No D'lator yet.

I ended up with a Sylvania 7025 in V1, an old RCA grey plate in V2, and a GE grey plate in V3, and Winged C's for power.

Voltages:
V1
Pin 1: 198V
Pin 3: 1.54V
pin 6: 197V
pin 8: 1.55

V2
Pin 1: 197V
Pin 3: 1.74V
pin 6: 201V
pin 8: 1.65V

V3
Pin 1: 308V
Pin 3: 57.4V
pin 6: 293 V
pin 8: 57.4

452V on the 6l6 plates biased at 32mV

Played through a brand new RWB.

Please pardon the short clip and poor playing.

Hey Guys, Been a while. I finally got around to covering the amp. It was my first tolex job, and except for a small boo boo or two, went surprisingly well.

I'm still building the D'lator for the bottom of the head cabinet, Which should be done very shortly. I'll update this thread hers in the next week with final build pics, correct schematic, and clips.

Thanks for looking.

Chris.
