Been there done that.
Yeah, Sonny will always sound good through whatever he plays.
Actually my personal preference for slide setup over the HRM when playing a few of Sonny's tunes, at a gig, is the #124 ckt, in 50 or 100W (preferred) mode, through a thiele cab loaded w/ an EVM 12S, using a LP with P90s using the bridge PU. It does the Sonny thing, and find the #124 more versatile when switching from a LP to a strat. (less adjustment).
Bob.. Yeah man I'll bet that would sound good for slide...That's pretty much the circuit I start out with when someone wants a slide rig... No complaints yet..Sonny's Grant Street is a KILLER no doubt.. My own personal opinion Using all that gain and crunch is good for some songs but song after song of it starts to wear on ME!!..Looking at it from Sonny's perspective being in a 3 piece doing all slide you have a lot of ground to cover.. Trying to get the biggest sound he can... And he does..
I could listen to Lindley's tone all day and not get tired of that.. Just Me!!

Tony, I definitely agree w/ ya about Sonny and Lindley. That's why I can't do any more than a few of Sonny's tunes (yeah that the real reason..heh ...heh). Seriously, it wears on me too, and need a variety. I think that's why the #124 works so well, it seems more versatile w/ cleans and the OD. cheers!
