Antique sells handles like that and as to the Chicken head comment, try DEKA WARE or DEKA WARE clones, they are shorter (they used to be the standard). Most of the ones you see now are longer - the tip off is they are flat on top while the DEKA WARE ones have a top ridge.

I agree with Bob-i, it's a beautiful build inside and out. The loop return bothers me though running so close to the heater wires and plate resistors. I'd be tempted to move it on a different path closer to the chassis and away from any AC and HT currents. But that's just me Mr anal retentive fussy britches as I'm sure it's shielded.
