Gil, if the 1.8K is a ground tail on the midpot, then why is there a blue wire soldered there? Look at the pics. Maybe the resistor is just not hooked up....

I understand... nothing appears to make perfect sense, right? :( We need more pictures, it's a fact. :) Everything would be too farfetched: the resistor being there yet not being used, or hanging on the ground buss yet not making contact. And then, why leave that resistor hanging in both 234 and the LC amp? I could see that happening once, but twice? We need more data, me suspects!
