Re: 100W ODSR ON THE BAY
Not gooped. The issue with ODSR's was they were not perfect by any stretch. Dumble apparently had some issues making the reverb work properly in both clean and dirt modes, and a number of these were updated (the Dave Workman ODSR that was sold to Santana is an example), as well as a few others were apparently reworked by Dumble to get them to behave... Not sure what state this circuit is in actually. I've gotten a rundown on what it sounds like, but not going to get into it publicly....

Does any one know what the logic is behind putting the reverb before the OD? IIRC that's the way these were set up.

Dumbest idea ever. A few of these had reverb ONLY on clean tones....not sure why it evaded Dumble to get a reverb circuit that would handle both clean and dirty....

Note*
Antique Amplification will not provide schematics, circuit layout, circuit details, component values or any images describing or depicting the internal features of this amplifier.
This is what I really don't like about this sale presentation. If I were going to pay 30k+ plus for an amp, I would want to know every single thing that was done to it and WHY. I guess you have to buy it first to find out what is in it.
Agreed that an amp that works is better than one that doesn't, but I draw a line between repairing an amp and restoring it. IMHO the more historically significant the amp the less you mess with it and just fix what needs fixing and explain to prospective buyers what you fixed and why. Finally, as (almost) every Dumble was custom made for a specific customer, they are all equally rare and one of a kind. Yeah and stupid me can fix an amp but can't figure out how the quote function works.

Re: 100W ODSR ON THE BAY
I know the guy personally who did the work, and the owner was pretty specific about not wanting any information shared about the amp. I asked a few basic questions about it and was told "perhaps after the amp is gone we can talk". Trust me, nothing that would rock your world, from what I could tell.
The repair guy was basically under a gag order to STFU and do things right.
Lets think about it: Would you want the entire internet Dumble posse up your butt with fifty questions ? It's the buyer's choice whether he wants to know more about it than the listing states.
I've serviced plenty both local and shipped in and out. I don't leave them in plain sight in the shop. I don't share pictures if I bother to take them and my customers appreciate and like that just fine.....
Suppose it didn't sound "all that" anyway ?

Yeah I get that. There is a trust issue between the repairman and customer. I too have some photos that I have been asked not to share. I just would hope that a serious prospective buyer would be able to find out the specifics of what was replaced in the amp beyond what was described. There seems to be this selective amnesia in the vintage guitar and amp marketplace where "period correct replaced parts" somehow become original parts if no one asks.

Interesting. Ive owned 2 still own one and have played 5 in total. None had reverb only on clean. The reverb also worked on perfectly on both channels though getting them to be useful on both is somewhat of a balancing act.FUCHSAUDIO wrote:Dumbest idea ever. Im curious Andy. Which specifiv serial numbers have you actually seen in person or played for that matter?

Re: 100W ODSR ON THE BAY
I just noticed this amp has a Guitar/Mic switch instead of a Jazz/Rock switch. If the PA goes down, you fire up the Dumble. Ok, now I notice from a layout that the Guitar/Mic switch IS the Jazz/Rock switch. Now that thing makes sense, your supposed to sing Jazz with that setting.

That should be a Rock/Scat switch then...
