Here's a pic of the inside to a Dumble Manzamp (there's more pics out there in the interweb but I can't find them for some reason)

How about Tony Stark?UltraHookedOnPhonix wrote:Thanks Chris, I can't seem to find the "real" Stark site. Does he even have one? Found the facebook page but...

A bit more from Premier guitar
Give me a basic rundown of the gear you’re using.
Because what I had going was working really well, I kept it rather simple for this album. Most of my stuff is in storage in Louisiana and since we were in California, I mostly just used what I had out here. For amps, the majority of what you hear on this record is one of my original ’64 Fender blackface Vibroverbs with the original 15" speaker. I just got a brand new Fender ’57 Tweed Twin from the custom shop and I was beside myself with how incredible it sounded right out of the box.
I also used my Fender ’65 Reissue Twin, which is from one of the original runs of the ’65 Reissue Twins, when they were doing just 250 of them. I’m also using a Dumble Overdrive Special along with another amp Dumble built for me that he calls a Tweedle Dee Deluxe. If you saw it you would think it’s a Tweed Deluxe, but it’s actually his own circuit. It sounds absolutely phenomenal.
Is this a one of a kind amp?
Yes. The clean tones are just amazing and sparkling, and the clarity is unbelievable. When you crank it up, the overtones are just incredible—you don’t even need a pedal for that amp. You’re hearing the Overdrive Special on some of the solos, the Deluxe that he built for me on a lot of the rhythm parts, and the ’57 Tweed Twin is on a ton of stuff.
Is that the Dumble on the solo to “Anywhere The Wind Blows?”
Straight Dumble. [Laughing.] That’s my Dumble with some delay that was put on by my engineer. It’s just cranked up.

Re: Kenny Wayne Shepherd - New Dumble amp
It's Alexander's variant of a 5E3 Tweed Deluxe
That's not correct. Alexander developed this technology for all Tweed amps. I played a Tweed Twin and a Deluxe, they sounded amazing.

What "technology"? You're using Dumble-speak here aren't you?59Pro wrote:It's Alexander's variant of a 5E3 Tweed Deluxe

Do you own one? My friend who owns three of Alex's mods told me this. I consider him a reliable source. From what I gather you own one or two yourself.
The play-on-words "Tweedledee Deluxe" is obviously a reference to the Tweed Deluxe. Why apply that phrase to something that doesn't share in the topographical lineage of the 5E3? Seems extremely counter intuitive.
Re: Kenny Wayne Shepherd - New Dumble amp
Hey all,
I don't know that any of the information being tossed around here is "Fact"
ie: Did Dumble help Stark with this amp.....I don't know for sure.
A friend I trust said he did, so I believe him.
The bottom line is ............it's a Tweed Deluxe...
It's not rocket science......you can see the changes in the picture......
Let's not get to crazy here...he changed the plate values and split the cathodes.....
So please let's not start talking about "this technology" Like it's something it's not......

Yes, I do own several amps from Alexander, but no Tweedle Dee. I played a few Tweed amps which had the Tweedle Dee technology. If YOU want to call it "technology" or not is up to you. Alexander call's it Tweedle Dee Technology and who am I to argue that? What "technology"? You're using Dumble-speak here aren't you?

But the Tweedle Dee is not for the Deluxe only, since I played a Champ, a Deluxe and a Twin, which had the Tweedle Dee technology. I don't understand why you guys are so hung up about the terminology? Since it's his invention, he can call it whatever he wants.

Re: Kenny Wayne Shepherd - New Dumble amp
So let me get this straight. The "Tweedle Dee" part contains circuitry that he applies to these different Fender-style amps of his. However, he also offers a 5E3-type amp with the Tweedle Dee mojo. Isn't it then fair to say, again, that the Tweedle Dee Deluxe is Alexander's take on a 5E3?59Pro wrote:Yes, I do own several amps from Alexander, but no Tweedle Dee. I get hung up because when there's a bazillion different kinds of mods, models and names spanning about 4 decades of amps, getting specific is the name of the game, IMHO. Heck, I've heard names that have never showed up on this forum before!
Big congrats on your Dumbles!
Re: Kenny Wayne Shepherd - New Dumble amp
6L6 or 6V6? That and a hundred-watter of your choice would be the only two amps you might ever need!

I can vouch for 59Pro.
He has what he says he has and is friends with HAD.
If he told me something about a certain Dumble amp I would have no reason to doubt him.

Or... Is it "fair" to say that "Tweedle Dee" could decode to tweed Dumble and could be applied to amps based on amp topologies from Champs up to Twins (e.g. Tweedle Dee Champ, Tweedle Dee Twin)?UltraHookedOnPhonix wrote:So let me get this straight. Re: Kenny Wayne Shepherd - New Dumble amp
Sure, that is the meaning I take from 59Pro's statement. So, in the case of a Tweedle Dee Deluxe you'd end up with a modified Tweed Deluxe, right? This was my point all along when I wrote that the Tweedle Dee Deluxe is Alexander's version of a 5E3 (having been told this from a guy who owns a: Ultraphonix, La Tostada and a tweaked Bandmaster from Mr. D.) This is not incorrect information.Zippy wrote:Or... Re: Kenny Wayne Shepherd - New Dumble amp
Its really interesting to learn more about Alexanders take on tweed fenders.
This forum has a lot of focus on the
"Fusion amps" like the #102, #183, #124 and the
"Rock amps"; Bluesmaster and HRM. Great amps for Blues Rock.
And even if these designs deliver impressive sounds, personally, being mainly a blues man, I tend to prefer lower gain amps with a more organic tone like the ol' Tweed Deluxe (5E3) and Super (5F4).
BTW, I have recently DIY'ed a Tweed deluxe and a Super using some of the techniques (or dare I say technology
) from the Dumble #1xx amps. Such as Dale resistors, SDE caps and D-style lead dress.
If anyone has further Tweedle Dee or similar info please keep it coming...
