Re: Four Button Footswitch
Never thought about that. What would the spacing between buttons be? Looks a bit tight.
Re: Four Button Footswitch
Be careful when drilling the switch holes.
I have the generic three switch pedal and the buttons are spaced 2.75" from each other.
Any closer and you will have trouble stepping on just one.
You may be able to go as little as 2" apart but it is something to be aware of.
But they are close enough that I can put my toe on two at a time to switch two switches.
Like OD and PAB at the same time.

Buy some aluminum rectangular tubing. EBay has it all the time.

You could put end caps on it if you want, bend it over or leave it open. Tough, cheap, any hole spacing you want. I made one once out of a piece of the stepper from an exercise machine. Another thing I've done is glue a piece of heavy duty foam rubber (like floormats) to the bottom of the gizmo and then bevel it on a belt sander so it angles back towards me. The rubber keeps it from sliding around. Food for thought, sh

David Root wrote:Maybe. I seem to recall something about that now that you mention it. Gary, is there any potential downside to that? What are the functions of your five buttons, if that's not a State Secret.
None really, I sell an option for my amps that is Bright on clean only. It switches out the bright cap when OD is selected. I always find that the OD is already bright enough
No State secret
Loop Bypass
Mid Boost
Overdrive Select (Overdrive 1 / Overdrive 2)
Boost (stack lifts)
Overdrive Mode
Sometimes I will rewire the loop (move one wire) for the FEPA (front end preamp) option.

Re: Four Button Footswitch
I use an extra OD relay to control the bright switch and the negative feedback loop on V1b. Each side is controlled by an on-off-on SPDT panel switch. In the up position the bright is always on. In the middle it is always off and in the lower position it is on in clean but off in OD. On the NFB switch, the upper position is always disengaged by grounding the junction of the two 22m resistors. In the middle position the NFB is always engaged and in the lower position the NFB is disengaged for the clean and engaged in OD. Both relays share the same wire from the relay to the footswitch.
Tony posted a version where the panel switch controls the power for the relay that does the same thing.
If you knew what you wanted, you wouldn't have to bother with the options but the on-off-on switch takes up the same space as an on-off so you can find what you like and leave it.

Verrry interrestink, as they used to say on Laugh In. Thank you, I will take a good look at that one.
Gary, also thank you. I assume your OD1/OD2 relay is similar to NOR/FET switching in its effect. I don't have two OD circuits otherwise.
