The original had some such sideways thing going on.

I'd suggest mounting them standing up like the others in the ps.

Sorry, I just thought you were trying to be accurate to the real deal.
I thought it odd that HAD changed the way he normally did things.

He seemed to do it both ways. I wonder what his thoughts are on this?

I like the gap between pins 1 & 9 towards the rear of the chassis as I find it easier to swap out preamp tubes when the amp is in it's cab.

Don't let that smoke out!

Do we still need to be extra super secret with the gut shots? If we're going to have an accurate layout for the world to view, why not post a few pictures to along with it? There has to be more pics around than just the one leaked shot from the Ford/183 meltdown. If not, I'm still happy to have the the one to go with the layout...

I've actually found a significant difference in the hiss and hum level by using the first triode first, second triode second. Not many folks take notice of the fact that the first triode is the higher number pins.

As for cap orientation, I honestly haven't been able to distinguish which is which. I'd like to try to learn more about this.

A 6th generation ODS with mid switch - 3 piece chassis,(wooden sides high plate no LNFB V1 Skyliner w/different script

Also a big thank you to Shad/ Quinn amps for all his help with the layout..without it it would not be possible..

Tag or Brad when you guy's get around to doing a clip audio or video of the amp that your happy with it would be great to add it to the archive along with the layout so people can get a sonic reference point of the amp..This would be most gracious of you and am sure many here will appreciate it..Just post it here

Also Thanks to Tag and Brad for all there help in supporting in the documenting of the amp.. Very Very Good!!

Shout out any errors you see..Enjoy!!

Tony

You can thank Brad and Shad, not me. If I were not forced to sell the amp, none of this would have been made public, becuase I would NEVER have shared it with anyone. Clips and discription of the tones of course, and I would gladly have admitted if someone got the tone on their own. What I DO have is close up pics of every single componet while the amp was degooped that no one else has. Do not even ask. :P Even the shadster does not have these. I know whats correct, and what is not. I will gladly share clips of the Quinn when I get it, and I hope Shad totally nails it with mine. Any changes can easily be made to Brads if needed. I will also gladly share pics of my other attempted "clones". Now start building everyone, and then lets see if anyone else can actually get the tone. History shows how different the exact same circuit can sound with different people doing it. Lets hear the clips!!! Thats all that really matters. I have over 100 of the real deal waiting to be A/Bd with anything anyone will put up. Let the fun begin!! :D

Not going to share on this one, sorry. I think its cool that some things remain unknown. :) Plenty of other Dumbles are supossedly cloned very accurately, but I have alwyas said, IMO, none of them get the tone of a great Dumble. We will see what is forthcoming!

One more thing. Instead of wasting time in typing how you cant stand me, put that effort into your building. :D Hate me or not, I PROMISE I will be honest and tell you if you get the tone correct. VERY GOOD, VERY GOOD! I am honest to a fault. 8)

I do not understand your love for a man who has no love for you.

Pretty sure if HAD gave a damn about us and followed your antics we wouldn't be too approving.
