Hi Colossal,

if you would post this "ODS 101 non-HRM schematic with Skyliner stack" schematic or a link where to find it, I could try to find out.

Cheers,

The transition from the "classic" to the "skyliner" stack will have taken place in the 150-160 range so Peters could be either. My guess is a Classic...Listen to the amp in jazz setting.. Very Very Good

Hi Tony,

The transition from "classic" to "skyline" took place in the "classic" > "skyline" transition generation. All these amps did still have a "deep" switch. But Peter’s ODS has obviously a "Mid" switch and the look is the usual 5th generation "skyline" look, too. So I personally have no doubts at all that Peter’s amp is a 5th generation "skyline" ODS with a "skyline" tone stack and the precision power supply. And AFAIR it is a 6L6 amp like #173 that had a very similar tone AFAIR.

Here are some pictures of the "classic" > "skyline" transition generation ODS amps and a 5th generation "skyline" ODS like #173 and Peter’s:

5th generation "skyline" ODS: https://tubeamparchive.com/viewtopic.ph ... 990#135990

@mlp-mx7

Wich one of these 1001 "possible #101 worlds" in these schematics shall now perhaps be the circuit of Peter's amp?

Have a great weekend,

Max

Hi Max, mlp-mx6, Tony:

Indeed, the ODS-101 non-HRM schematic as posted in the link above was what I was referring to. There was some discussion on Peter's amp a while back (I think it was Tonegeek that posted the link to Peter's video) but I did not learn what topology Peter's amp was most closely related to. I appreciate your help in sorting it out for me.

I really like the clarity without the excessive detail on clean notes and the honk/grind of the OD. Sounds killer!

Thanks again guys.

Regards,
Dave

Max,

Yes 4x6L6's. Apparently Peter waited at least 10 years to get that amp. Too bad he wouldn't post anymore clips

I wonder why that is?
He did a good job on that one, almost seems professionally done.

I'd like to hear more of that amp.

Hi Mac Daddy,

This combo is one of the 2nd generation "pre-classic" ODS combos, which have been exported to Europe. Their cabinets have been made by the European distributor. Here is a layout of a 2nd generation "pre-classic" ODS 50W: https://tubeamparchive.com/viewtopic.ph ... 751#136751

And here are some links to some clips I've posted here, which all have been recorded with such a 2nd generation "pre-classic" ODS:
