I have a pair of reissues currently residing in a closed back 2x12. Sounds pretty killer.

I know that Joe Bonamassa uses them in his closed back 4x12s (each divided into two 2x12s) for his very reason. I notice the same thing. They are very true to what the amp is producing and lets you hear the real voice sans coloration. In a closed back I find them tight and smooth, in a good way. I'm going to split them up and put them in some partially open backed 1x12s I have (see enclosed photo).

I have a Scholz Sugarcone in my TL cab. I love everything about that speaker. Very revealing with enough top end for my taste. I find that many speakers don't have the top end that I am looking for.
