BTW
Having added the FET to my build I'm not sure I like it with this amp.
I have built the FET circuit in pedal form and ran it from a 9v battery ( similar to what LC has in his SHO-BUD volume pedal) by ditching the 47uf cap and 150k,8.2K droppng resistors. Also made the 100pf cap switchable
and really like the pedal form through other amps (marshalls, fenders) but
find the inbuild version not as nice in my clone. I think the 100pf cap can make it sound brittle (will have to try without it). Tried tweaking it with a cheap acoustic guitar (only) and had it sounding pretty good with the deep switch engaged. Further testing required, maybe with a nicer guitar. Hard to fathom what HAD was thinking when he added this circuit.

Great lookin' Layout.
Are your relays wired in series?
On my build the voltages are similar and are wired in parallel. I have 18v unloaded , 9.98v loaded with both activated ( used a 270R/1watt dropping resistor on each relay). The relays I used have a working voltage of 8v-24v and seem to work fine. Perhaps the leds load it down a touch more.
Should I be concerned at not having the voltages closer to 12v?
I think you're good. Worst case you can always throw in a 24V transformer.
The relays are wired in parallel. (It only looks like series.) I tested my relay circuit with a 9 volt battery before wiring it up and it worked fine. I should just check my other amp to see what the LED draws.

I never spent any time fine tuning the FET in my other amp. I think Gil said you have to experiment with the bias to get it dialed in. I just put in a 2k7 and left it.
Hi Norm:
I''ve been enjoying working with your layouts in Paint but getting very frustrated with loosing definition (dithering) every time I save a jpeg after making alterations.
I downloaded Visio free trial today and now think I need to join a monestery or something just to be able to rise to the learning curve. Stuff sure looks good on there.

Visio frustrated the hell out of me when I first started using it. Now I've been using it so long I don't think about it any more.
BTW, when you're working in Paint, save as BMP for all of your working drawings. Then just save as JPG when you want to post, but always keep the original in BMP.

Start by grabbing the symbols I posted in the files section. Copy and paste in the symbols and use the line/curve drawing tool to draw your wires in. Ask questions, I'm sure Norm will answer them , ok I'll help too.

Sooo...you ready to build #124? [/quote]
Norm: I'll be stuffing board tonight with any luck.
Bob: I'll do that. I think I already got some of them. The ones I'm looking for are the garolite background and the fancy smancy resistors, caps, connectors etc. Even the cord coming in at an oblique angle. Pretty amazing. Just think, IBM thought this was all a flash in the pan. "What?, license the operating system? Don't make me laugh." IBM CEO cir. 1984.

Oh.. I forgot to tell you to steal Norms drawing, copy and paste from there. . Remember "Group" is my friend. You can grab large sections of a schem or layout by grouping the objects into one.
This thread is hugely old, but I have traveled far to arrive here! Does anyone have access to the schematic or layout? I've got an old Triad PT and Schumacher set burning a hole on my bench!

You can also use one of my adaptions of the Custom reverb signature. I have one for a 2x6v6 version and a 100W version with 4x6L6. The latter is easily adapted to 6x6L6 and 2xGZ34, just like Two Rock did on some of their amps. Adding 1 or 2 tube rectifiers is relatively easy.
BTW. I built this amp a long time ago and agree with Rootz. The reverb was "weak" It's ok if you want to add the extra dimension a little bit of reverb brings but other than that
Just not enough current to drive the tank.

Yes I agree with Tony here as well. I have built that one and Reverb was not too intense and then I built the one as rootz described and Reverb was more intense.
