What’s up with the FET boost? Did you ever get back to that?
I considered going back to it, but in the end I found that I was happy enough with the amount of gain that the amp naturally produces. I may reconsider it in the future, but might try a basic FET pedal in front of it first before I go adding anything internally into the amp. The PAB provides all the boost for clean and OD that I really need for now. I left the old FET jack in to have something in that input hole, and to help prevent any dust from getting inside the amp.
Yes your amp will have enough gain for all your needs as is.
What the FET on a relay does tough is give you another 'sound' and with the footswitch mod so the OD cannot be used with the FET you can have a clean/rhythm crunch sound using the FET boost which will be slightly brighter and then with one click of the footswitch the OD can kick in and the FET goes off giving you the full OD sound with less top than the clean/FET/crunch.

just another option

I really enjoyed your conversation with Martin about how to wire the FET up so that it does not become engaged with the OD on!! Thank you both for sharing your designs! I hope other builders can put them to good use in the future!
I may come back one day to try to wire the FET up, but I'm happy leaving things as is for now. Who knows what the future holds! I'm going to try a lot of difference equipment with the amp and see if the clean channel could use a little boost.
