I was told by someone how should know, that this amp has indeed been built for Ry Cooder (makes absolute sense, look at the Tremolo instead of the step filters). It's a one of a kind amp just as the "Borderline Special" (pic posted by Ayan in the "Ry Cooders amps" thread).

Max
max - do you mean this thread or is there another thread about Rys amps on this forum - can you paste the link?

thanks
The "Borderline Special" picture Gil Ayan posted in this thread.

The pic of "Dumble working on the chassis of the 150W Silver Alligator amp" and a pic of this amp you find on Rob's side and on the "Treasures of Equipment" site.

Does this answer your question?

All the best

ayan wrote:Don't speculate anymore, guys. The amp was the only one of its kind, cosmetically, from what I have ever seen. However, it is a 100K classic overdrive special -- with remolo, that is.

Gil
What type of tremolo was it? Would you please tell the values.
Thanks,

Probably the borrowed type hehe

I saw a documentary about a Dutch guitar builder Flip Scipio in New York. He works for famous people. In it were some interesting interviews and songs. There was also an interview with David Lindley It was filmed at Davids house I think. He (I think together with Jackson Browne) sang a song about Ry Cooder. It was obvious Ry had the habbit of borrowing stuff (guitars) and not returning them.
Nice detail: In the backgroud there's a Dumble.

It might be availavble on DVD: TALKING GUITARS
try this:

at about 49 minutes is the part I'm refering to. This rest is great as well though.
