Open it up and post some gut shots for starters. Be careful! Let us know the plate resistor values at V1 & V2 and the tube compliment of the amp(specifics). Keep it open for a dizzying array of suggestions that may come your way. DO a search on Gil Ayan's pre OD network an extremely valuable mod in a brash or aggressive sounding OD. I would suggest building a sturdy "cradle" so that you can keep the chassis open while you change things one at a time and try it with your guitar and cab. Keep notes & make recordings before and after. Keep it open until you are happy, then close it for good - if you have more will power than I do....... :)

and you need the high plate version of the amp, not the S&M version or the first version.
Also, try a good, flat response speaker such as an EV12 or an Eminence RW&B.
Wouldn't I get more gain if I set the OD trimmer to 11?
I guess I have to start identifying which OTS I have. Its not S&M just the normal OTS. I got mine 2nd hand, the seller told me it was ordered around June and was received on August 2008.

THANKS!
no, 11 o'clock is one step just below half, you'll hear clearly when you will operate the trimmer.
You can recognize the amp by reading the values on the plate resistors, the brown resistors with black letters.
Report back and we'll see together what kind of amp you have.
