My first Dumble is coming along

Post by Tdale »

I got those Vishay Dale resistors, replaced the CF's. Kind of cool to see "Dale" written on the resistors in my amp....makes it eve more "home built" :)

There are a couple of components left, since I don't have them yet, and a couple of solders that needs to be done. I'm not going for a trim pot for hte PI plate resistors, so I'll just put in the resistors on the right side, as planned.

There is a Dumbleator included on this board by the way.

Tommy,

A few observations....

You have a silver mica on the board in the tonestack. They don't sound as good as ceramic in the Dumble circuit.

Also, what size is your OD1 and OD2 coupling caps?? You should have .01 and .005 You have something wrong as they are the same size. Use a 100k after the OD1 and a 150k after the .005 I think a .02 works nice as a CL2 coupler. Do you have .01 on all three of those caps??

Is that a 100v rated .1 for the FB cap after the PI?

Lookin' good!

I have 0.01 on both OD coupling caps.
I was planning on a 180K after the OD2 coupling cap

OD2 coupler... do you mean coupling cap? Which three caps are you referring to? OD1, OD2 and...?

What is a FB cap?
