but my overtone is A LOT SMOOTHER WITHOUT SNUBBERS on V2.
Try this:
1)bring the slope resistor to 75k
2)Dime the value of the bass cap
3)Remove snubbers or put a very little one, kinda 100pF.
4)the LEVEL pot should be 100k
5)install the treble bleed mod
I0ve incredible tones now, smooth and fat, and the clean is stellar without honkyness and overpowering bass.
Can you tell me where the slope resister is and what is emant by the slope resister.
I added one 47uf 450v cap to each of the 100uf 450v caps in the power supply and it helped clean up mine. The master and the volume should be at least at 1/4 or 9 o'clock on the dial.

The slope resistor kind of determines how the tone stack will operate.
Lowering it will make the amp more mid-rangey.
When looking at the Ceriatone OTS layout, it is the 150K resistor at the far right of the main board.

Strange how I really feel the amp LESS midrangey than before...
The bass cap is now 0,047uF...
Structo wrote:Yes but you dropped your bass cap value at the same time as lowering the slope resistor value, so it probably balanced out nicely.
Yeah, that makes sense now...made a brief simulation on duncan tone stack calculator and dropping the slope, raise the bass a lot, giving the "illusion" to have less mids...
I'm going to try a 200k slope now
report back on the 200k slope...STELLAR CLEANS...really, impressive, blackaface tones out of the clean channels...I am in strat heaven...the OD is kinda cutting now, less mids, sharper...but not in a bad way...guess I'll try a 180k or put a switch with double slope selection...200k for cleans, 80k for od.
