Well the low prices certainly raised eyebrows to many. I really do think that the "genie is out of the bottle" in this internet age and with the global economy. Refer to "The World Is Flat" by Thomas L. Friedman for a really good read if you haven't already done so. I think it's in its third edition already as it's that an important book.

Anyhow Malaysian amp manufacturing (read Nik) isn't going away so what you really should concern yourself with might be, "so what's up with China?" and when will they be stepping into things. Well we got the Egnator 20 making some in roads so only time will tell what they choose to persue. One thing is certain, the world we thought we knew no longer exists.

Jim

Oh yeah, my buddy who ordered his S&M OTS kit it getting it shipped to him in one week! I think that is pretty respectable, say what?

Fullerpast,

Glad to see you on board.......I saw the banning on TGP....asked what that was about....but no answer.

Much cooler crowd here, some issues with C-TONE........but no big deal!

All D-Derivatives are great!
Thanks for the welcome. I find there are cool people and not-so-cool people everywhere...it's just the ratio that changes.

As for TGP, people keep asking me what happened but you know about as much as I do about it. This was the thread: "banned" and the topic was hypocrisy of a particular amp owner. I was banned 10 minutes after this thread was closed. No posts were removed or edited so you can come to your own conclusion. I've come to mine. In over 5 years and 5000 posts I've never received a single infraction or warning. When I asked Brian and Scott about it, Scott didn't respond and Brian said they didn't have to use the infraction system but could ban somebody for whatever reason they wanted. He acknowledged I broke no rules. To say the rules were applied unevenly there is an understatement.

But anyway, that was there and this is not TGP. It's good to stay focused on the circuits here.
Fullerpast,

It is a bunch of bull..........I know LVC instigated and said some nasty things on my thread.........he was back a day later...........believe me.........I stuck up for TAG and got banned then suspended myself.............

Note: I emailed Scott P. about you and LVC...........he did not respond.....

All I can say...... it is clearly evident to everyone how things got handled and it was wrong!

The best was when LVC got caught with his pants down.......his Fuchs combo in brown suede, and the VOX grille cloth............''

Good thing the amp garage is tolerant and fair.

At least people are professional here, may argue from time to time......but in the end.....it's all about helping one another.

No bull on this site!

Although I like to go over to TGP when things are slow, I don't think I have ever seen one thread that went over four pages that ended well.

Huge membership + that many opinions = mayhem

I used to laugh at the John Mayer threads or the Dumble Robben tone threads.

One thing you can depend on, it always turns into a pissing contest.

It's like nobody respects anybody else's opinion.

And we all know what opinions are compared to.....

C'mon guys. Enough is enough.

Laz, no instigating.

Mark/Jimmy/Nik: The OTS is a nice amp for the $$.

Let's let this die.

Mod hat off.

But I believe that this has become his standard layout according to a few people on the Ceriatone forum.
Back to topic, after looking at the S&M layout, it appears that it is close to Marin's and Sami's amps (original design), but there are still a couple of minor changes....so it won't sound exactly like those amps either, but will be much closer than the later amps were. If I were to order a version now, this is probably the version I would order (after hearing all the HRM and modded amp clips, and modding/unmodding my amp).
