And greetings to you!
What is the photo of #40 or a small special?
nickm57, go here for picture of #40: www.roblivesey.com/dumble/
(scroll down a bit to "Dumble #0040")
Is/was #40 anything special as far as Dumbles go?
I've never played it, I can't say. However, I think they all are in one way or another. Maybe others can chime in and let you know.

Nick
I took the pix of #40 and played it, as I posted earlier in the thread.
As I said, it needed new caps and tubes very badly. The sound reminded me a lot of early MkI Boogies. It certainly wasn't the best Dumble I played through. It would have been great to hear it with new caps and tubes and hear how it would have sounded working in top form. The amp was at a guitar shop I used to frequent a lot and I asked the owner if I could take pix of the chassis, and he was cool and let me do it. The amp came in on trade from a guy in Japan who traded it for a vintage dot neck 335. I know when the shop had it, Greg Martin from the Kentucky Headhunters borrowed it for a time, but I don't know if he ended up with it or not.
