Here is a quick picture of my last build. 1x12 Combo cabinet. Currently has a Emi "Cryng" Wizard speaker installed. I have a Red, White and Blues on order as a replacement.
Warning if you use a 100W Marshall style output tranny in a combo cabinet be careful with placement, or you WILL have clearance problems with the speaker.
Looks fantastic. Hard to pick it's a clone (only the font gives it away). Is that an 'Ernie ball' handle, 2 screws per side instead of the Fender type single screw?
Great looking amp, Gary! You've pretty much nailed the amp that I want to build next. Also, thanks for the tip about the tranny placement. I think I'll mount the chassis in the cab before marking the tranny holes.

Thanks much. Well I pixalated a selected area in the picture
Yes, that is the "period" correct Ernie ball handle. Found it on a parts hunting trip last week. Damn things are EXPENSIVE. I think Magic parts is also selling a similar handle.

Hey Norm, I think I will be replacing the tranny in the near future. That 12L needs a home.
I have a mid sixties Twin Reverb tranny (022889) that I bought off of a local music store and I think it will be perfect. Of course a 2:1 mismatch will occur but that is probably cool anyway. It is smaller and mounts horizontally.

Well actually it did not really take that long to build the cabinet. This is probably cabinet number 30 or 40 that I have built in the past 20 years so you get kind of a routine going.
I was also lucky enough to have my better half "allow" me to purchase a new table saw a while back (Rigdig 3630 I think) and it makes quick work for making these things. Material that use to take all day to cut is done in fifteen minutes.
The real hurry up and wait is in the tolexing. Apply the contact cement (custom pak or Antiques 1 quart bottles), wait 45 minutes and put it together. It is a bit of a process. But given the heat of Arizona, I know (from experience) that you can not rush that part of the job.

It looks great Gary! I would be very interested in hearing some clips of it and/or you opinion tonewise. I built my ODS using the 97 power supply and the Hybrid A schematic and mucho Dogears tweaking. I ordered Fender twin trannies from Heyboer however they made a mistake and sent me a Marshall 100watt plexi OT tranny instead. They agreed of course to send me the correct one, but suggested I try this anyway. I have been wondering what if anything I am missing tone wise by not using the Twin OT.

Well I have never used the Twin style trannies in one of my amps. But will be shortly. I will be testing the NOS tranny I have this weekend to see how it works. I will try to gets some clips this weekend also.
My kid will be using the amop tomorrow night at a local jam session and I plan on doing a little video of him playing the amp. If it comes out decent I will post a link to the file.
