ive read some post where people have said reverb is a bad idea in the ODS, but theres also a number of members who have tryed it.
is it worthwhile or does it interfere too much with the circuit? i hope to use the overtone layout but allow a custom chasis for some tube reverb?

Unless your Dumble is a truncated circuit or your chassis is oversized:
Where will you put the circuit?
Where will you put the circuit?
Re: adding reverb to the ODS
I've done 3 amps with reverb. On 2 I used the one tube reverb glaswerks posted awhile ago, on the other I used an ECL86 pentode triode for a single tube reverb. The 12AX7 sounds more classic Fender sprongy and in your face, the ECL86 is smoother and deeper.
There is some loss of tone, but it's not dramatic. I'm perfectly happy with these amps.

Re: adding reverb to the ODS
what is it in the tone department you lose with the added reverb? someone mentioned its the OD section that suffers, i use more clean tones hence why id like to have the reverb there, have you got any documentation for the ecl86 design?Bob-I wrote:I've done 3 amps with reverb. yeh thats it, if i go ahead with it ill get a custom chasis made up for the overtone scheme plus verb. not going with 100w itll be a 2X6l6 design so there be some extra room.
Re: adding reverb to the ODS
I posted the ecl86 reverb a long time ago, search is your friend.

As for what's lost in tone, just a little openness lost. At higher reverb levels there's some negative feedback happening that causes more loss of dynamics and the highs get a tad brittle. At reasonable reverb levels you won't notice a thing.
