could drive section of my carr slant 6 be "dumbled"

Post by sidehatch »

I bought a carr slant 6 in 2003 because of its clean-mild overdriven sounds. I have played it on every gig and several tours. Its still my favorite but the overdrive channel is good but it is way more marshall than I like. I use pedal to get my sound and am fairly happy but that sure seems like a waste of a channel. I dont want to get rid of the ampand its hard to bring another amp to the gig though I am considering getting an ods head and a head switcher.

Is it possible to at least change the tonestack on the carrs overdrive section and make it sweeter and more dumble like?

On the plus side the slant 6 doesnt have reverb on the overdrive section to water it down. it has volume gain treb mid bass and a high gain low gain switch.

I asked Carr about the gain side when I first got it and he said "I voiced the amp the way I like it" and I do understand that but I would like to use that channel if possible.

Any input will be appreciated.

Thanks
