Transformer noise

Post by rutledj »

I have a PT that actually sounds like it has a rattle (not a hum) when powered on. Aside from the irratating noise, is it of any concern?

Jep, Don't worry about it - have you checked that the mounting screws are tight?

If it bugs the living daylight out of you -- I am glad I play mmy amps with a band -- you can laquer the perp! I used a Hoffman PT in one of my amps and that was the noisiest POS I have ever used. New Sensor Corp is quiet, Magic Parts is OK, haven't fired up my latest build (Heyboer) yet. All noisy!
