Does your amp have Nine Lives..... ???

Post by glasman »

I just finished up modding an old amp I had built many years ago. It is on its third rebuild (genre wise). It has been loaded out to a local pro for a couple of years in its SuperChief dress, but alas he could never control the amp. Just a little too over the top for him and asked me to try and make it like my normal stuff.

It started life as a Plexi Verb. (Marshall/Bassman with Reverb). Check out the uber cool Plexiglass board.

Then it moved to the TW style which was a REALLY aggresive amp.

To finally more Dr D. style with boost and overdrive. As I only have a board space of 2.5" x 6" for the main board I had to get a little creative and compact the layout. I also modified the OD section to provide just a bit more crunch on the bottom end while maintaining a nice singing clarity. Non-HRM, gets delivered back to the player tonight. I still retain the ownership but would rather see if get used than collect dust around the house.

Lets see those pictures of your amps that evolved over time.
